What is the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) and GHR?

GHSC stands for the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council. It is a UK professional standards body for hypnotherapy. It sets standards for training, ethical practice, and professional conduct, and provides a framework for recognising practitioners who meet its requirements.

GHR

GHR stands for the General Hypnotherapy Register. It is a UK professional register of hypnotherapists. It lists practitioners who have met required training and practice standards, helping the public identify hypnotherapists who work within an agreed code of conduct and professional guidelines.

How the GHSC relates to the GHR

The GHSC and the GHR are closely linked. The GHSC sets the standards for hypnotherapy training and professional practice, and the GHR is the register that lists hypnotherapists who meet those standards and agree to follow the relevant professional and ethical requirements.

Why study a GHSC Accredited Course?

Like the HPD, when you study a GHSC Accredited course you are assured that your training has been held accountable to external standards.

The GHSC accredits courses which allow you to join the GHR - the largest professional body of hypnotherapists in the UK.

The GHR is also recognised throughout the world, so if you're studying from further afield, GHSC accredited training is a must.

To summarise...

The General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) stands as one of the most esteemed professional hypnotherapy organizations, not just in the UK, but globally. With members spanning every continent, the GHR's reputation for excellence is unmatched. The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (SC) consistently refreshes its guidelines to ensure that members receive top-notch training. If you’re looking for assurance in quality of your training and wish to demonstrate your commitment to professional development to your clients, consider enrolling in a course that offers the Hypnotherapy Practitioner (HPD) or is accredited by the GHSC, or ideally, both.
