Inner child therapy workshop Glasgow 9th May

Inner child therapy workshop Glasgow 9th May

The 'inner child' concept was developed by psychiatrist Eric Berne who noticed that, far from being a theoretical concept, his clients sometimes acted as if they were a child. Clients who have experienced difficulty and trauma in childhood carry their injured and hurt child into adulthood. It is this hurt child who responds to certain situations in a range of childish ways, including acting out, feeling powerless and acting impulsively. Many clients describe feelings of being out of control and acting in conflicting ways. Therapeutically, people can benefit from becoming aware of their… continue reading →

Deborah Craig’s Hypnotherapy Diploma Course review

I recently trained a wonderful therapist who's setting up an exciting practice and will be combining hypnotherapy with reiki and mindfulness. Her website is www.deborahcraig.com and here's her review: I found the material thorough and extensive and having the course information up front I was able to read and re-read the materials before, during and after the sessions to help me embed it even further. Claire made excellent suggestions for further reading which I found insightful. I thoroughly enjoyed the way the course was structured allowing for overview of materials first followed by… continue reading →

Clinical hypnotherapy in hospital settings

During my hypnotherapy training courses – and when I’m working with hypnotherapy CPD students – most people envisage working with private clients and often primarily working with those conditions which are most popularly associated with hypnosis, such as weight loss and smoking. The aim of the training was to explore ways of reducing the… continue reading →

Hypnotherapy uses methods to create that state of mind in a person with a view to using it therapeutically – for instance, by making positive suggestions based on what a client has defined as their desired therapeutic outcome. Clinical hypnosis, or clinical hypnotherapy, is therapeutically oriented – as opposed to hypnosis which may be used… continue reading →
Children’s hypnotherapy – What it’s not!

Children’s hypnotherapy – What it’s not!

Children’s hypnotherapy…on my kids-matters.co.uk website you’ll find loads of information about the benefits of using hypnotherapy to help children with a range of issues, but I just briefly want to look at some of the MISinformation which is out there. 1. Using mind control with your kids is bad – Children’s hypnotherapy has absolutely nothing to do with mind control. You cannot make your child do something they don’t want to do. I’ve even seen this belief put out there by one hypnotherapist who claims she can ‘maker her husband and kids do… continue reading →
