Advanced hypnotherapy training is about becoming a more reflective, ethical and skilled practitioner who can think clearly, work safely with complexity, and articulate the reasoning behind your choices.
That's why I am delighted to announce the release of a General Hypnotherapy Standards Council validated Advanced Hypnotherapy Training course.
This is an NFQ Level 6 qualification, degree level. It is a completely different level of depth and professionalism compared to most diploma-level hypnotherapy courses.
If you love hypnotherapy, love learning, and you want to learn how to be a more reflective, ethical and skilled practitioner, including charging appropriately for your advanced skills and attracting new clients, this is for you.

Diploma level hypnotherapy training vs Level 6: what’s the real difference?
Diploma training can be an excellent foundation. It often focuses on:
Core hypnosis skills and session structure
A set of protocols and scripts
Basic client management and scope
A Level 6 advanced course goes further. It is less about collecting more tools and more about developing clinical maturity:
You learn to think, not just follow steps
You build professional judgement and ethical decision-making
You can explain why you’re doing what you’re doing
You become more confident with complex presentations and real-world complexity
In other words: advanced hypnotherapy training transforms how you practise, not just what you do.
What to look for in a genuinely advanced hypnotherapy course
Not all advanced courses are advanced in the way that matters. Here are the key things to look for, and how this Level 6 course meets each one.
1) A recognised level, NFQ Level 6
Look for a course that is genuinely degree level in what it expects from you.
At Level 6, learning should encourage research, in-depth analysis and vertical thinking. That means going deeper into what hypnosis is and means, questioning original teaching, and developing a more sophisticated understanding of how and why hypnotherapy works.
This training is NFQ Level 6, degree level, and it is designed to develop that depth.
2) Working confidently without scripts
Look for training that helps you move beyond relying on scripts, so you can work in a more responsive way with real clients.
Scripts can be very helpful. The goal is not to stop using them. The goal is to have a choice in how you work.
On this course, you will learn how to confidently work with clients without scripts when that is appropriate. You will also learn how to write your own quality scripts, so you are not limited to what someone else has written.
If you have watched hypnotherapists work in a natural and flowing way and wondered how they do it, this course will help you develop that same kind of confident, responsive style.
3) Evidence of quality and external validation
Look for external validation or oversight that demonstrates quality assurance.
This course is General Hypnotherapy Standards Council validated. If you are already a GHR member, you can change your practitioner status to GHSC Advanced Hypnotherapy Practitioner status.
If you are not with the GHR, the course is externally accredited with ACCPH. There is also the option of joining the GHR in addition to being a member of another respected body.
4) Reflective practice at the heart of ethics and quality
Look for a course that develops your reflective capacity, because reflective practice is at the heart of ethical work and high-quality client care.
You will build a portfolio that captures your learning, development and professional reasoning. As you build your portfolio, you will also develop a personal development plan that encourages self-reflection, honest evaluation of your strengths and gaps, and a clear plan for ongoing growth.
5) Ethics, boundaries and professional judgement
Look for clear teaching on ethical practice, scope, boundaries and decision-making, especially when clients present with complexity.
Ethical and reflective practice is embedded throughout. The goal is not just doing hypnotherapy, but practising in a way that is responsible, defensible and client-centred.
6) Skill depth that supports better outcomes
Look for training that improves your formulation, session planning and adaptability, so you can tailor work to the client rather than forcing clients into a protocol.
The Level 6 structure supports deeper skill development, including the thinking that sits behind effective intervention choices.
7) Support and community while you study
Look for a course that gives you real support as you work through the material.
This is often missing from advanced training. Yet when the material is challenging, support is not a luxury. It is needed.
This course includes monthly meetups where you can discuss the course materials as you work through them. You will also have access to a Facebook group for peer support and for making connections with other practitioners.
8) A pathway to attracting new clients who value quality
Look for a course that strengthens your confidence and competence so you can communicate your value clearly.
As your skills and professional judgement develop, it becomes easier to:
Explain what makes your work different
Attract new clients who are willing to pay for quality
Charge appropriately for advanced-level work
9) A realistic completion structure for busy practitioners
Look for a course that respects the reality of work, life and client practice.
You have up to 3 years to complete the portfolio, although many people will finish far quicker. This gives you space to integrate learning properly while still allowing momentum if you’re ready to move fast.
Course fees and payment options
You can pay in full for £595.
If you prefer to spread the cost, you can pay over 12 payments of £49.99.
